With an infatuation to the heartland of India, a bond that not only forms a part of her heritage but with an unbridled love for, Anita Ben has unified her passion for discovery and joy of fashion to create a label that speaks of the above.
Having launched her label ‘ANU', (her childhood nickname) in Summer 2007, after a year of development and traveling to India, sourcing some of the countries finest embroiderers and printers, Anita developed a range that was received with much fervor by some of Australia's leading retailers.
The collections feature batik and tye dye silk kaftans, bright peacock print kaftans and shift dress, hand embroidered tunics and churidar cotton pants. While owing much to the past due to the traditional dyeing techniques embraced, ANU is markedly different. Expressive and subtle, ANU explores a unique process in a flexible and exciting way.
Focusing her energies on developing exclusive prints and silhouettes with her fine craftsman in India, embracing the craft as her own, to create ANU, a brand that is both feminine and contemporary for the modern woman.
