Founded by Helen Thurley O'Connor - whose training includes an advertising degree and diploma of fashion from the Melbourne Institute of Technology and a scholarship at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York - Thurley launched in 2005 and immediately garnered the attention of buyers and critics. 

Whilst in New York, Helen trained under some of the world's leading fashion voices, honing her natural technical skills and forming what would soon become her signature style. From her base in New York, Helen had the opportunity to travel abroad to Paris, rousing her to experiment with centuries-old-techniques in craftsmanship. Returning to Australia in 2005, she swiftly launched the Thurley label, named after her mother.

Drawing on her experiences travelling the globe, O'Connor uses classic techniques and rare materials to create the most delicate of pieces.  Thurley's luxurious creations eschew trend, falling into the realm of timeless glamour. Spring Summer 2009 is all about 1920's glamour - silk fabrics, lush lace, beaded finishes all in a neutral palette of blacks, whites, greys and metallics.  Glamour chic at its best.
